What We Teach in CERT

CERT is a nationally recognized hands-on course designed to enhance citizen education and preparedness. CERT courses are taught by local emergency response professionals who bring their knowledge and experience to the classroom. The course is 20 hrs, typically taught over 2.5 consecutive days.
Units
CERT prepares you to assist yourself, your family, your neighbors, and your co-workers following a disaster until professional help arrives. Through exercise and hands-on practice, CERT volunteers develop key skills that everyone should have to be prepared for a disaster.
