| Business Continuity Planning
Economic recovery is key to the successful rehabilitation of a community following a disaster. Business as usual can resume much more quickly if continuity plans are developed. For more information on business continuity and how to get started visit the Southeast Wisconsin Homeland Security Partnership.
Evacuation Plan
Be prepared to evacuate the facility quickly and effectively account for all staff. Emergency responders will want to know if anyone remains in the building. Review the plan with employees and PRACTICE at least twice annually.
Crisis Communications
Identify how you will communicate with your employees, local authorities, customers and the community during and after a disaster. Determine who has the authority to represent your company if key leaders are unavailable. Consider multiple types of communication in case utilities or cellular service are disrupted.
Employee Wellness
Routines provide an important sense of security following a disaster. Many survivors want to return to 'normal' life as soon as possible. Consider what services you can offer employees, if financial support for their personal losses will be available, and how long they can stay home to manage their family. Enure staff are familiar with the company's expectations.
Insurance Coverage
Review your company's coverage and determine if it sufficiently meets your needs based on the risks in your community.
